christmass!! oh so soon

so recently i've been ill! i hate it so first of all let me apologise for the lack of posts (and videos to youtube!) but i have also been really busy with my degree! i still enjoy it, though its expensive. That is a good pointer' if you'er going to do an art degree, prepare to pay for everything, allllll of your materials, its rather annoying, and im severly running out of money, typical student crisis though.

Im working on a piece (for skills and processes) which started off at looking at artists books, which arent necessarily books either :/ but im in the process ofputting bits and bobs and my ideas together ! so far a i have dried, and ironed many autumn leaves and then sewn them all together on my sewing machine using awesome stitches and the're all hanging, almost like a veil, oh so very delicately and fragile they are.
i have also played around with leathers and organic dyes using onion skins. its really fun and gives out a beautiful peachy brown colour, perfect for my nature themed 'book' which will actually be a suitcase, or my basket from my bicycle filled with certain objects associated with my move of place; from the countrysides of Suffolk to the urbanised life of Reading.

This is the basic colour scheme for my compostition, quite vintage and unsaturated colours.

i got carried away in homebase an bought a miniture christmas tree, and some lightsssss. i then got busyyyyy and made salt dough heart decorations, felted a robin, gingerbread man and christmas pudding! wire hearts covered in gold glitter and finally ribbons flowing over the branches, all for free!! its really easy to make all these decorations and look just as good as the ones you can buy from john lewis etc!
